The Evening Assembly Technician plays a crucial role in the construction of pre-manufactured metal components for enclosure systems, adhering to precise specifications.
This role is designated for the 2nd Shift (Monday-Friday 3:30PM-12:15AM) with an additional $1.00/hour Shift Differential.
Supervisory Duties:
None
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine, interpret, and adhere to various blueprints, diagrams, and work instructions to successfully complete assemblies for enclosure systems.
- Assemble and install electrical components, including panel boards, HVAC units, battery systems, and electrical devices, while bending conduit as required.
- Utilize a variety of power and hand tools (e.g., drills, impacts, screwdrivers, grinders) to fulfill assigned tasks.
- Conduct quality assurance inspections to ensure that assembled products meet established specifications and quality benchmarks.
- Identify and document any product defects, reporting them as necessary.
- Oversee and maintain an inventory of essential supplies, tools, and components at the workstation.
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to execute work accurately.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Proficient reading comprehension skills to interpret written instructions, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering schematics.
- Basic mathematical skills to meet technical specifications and measurements.
- Fundamental understanding of tools (e.g., tape measure, impact drill).
- Proven ability to safely operate powered equipment (forklift, reach truck, scissors lift, overhead crane).
Experience and Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience in assembly or manufacturing environments.
- Previous experience operating powered equipment (forklift, reach truck, scissors lift, overhead crane).
Physical Demands:
- Extended periods of standing, bending, kneeling, and performing repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 35 pounds at a time.
- Manual dexterity required for assembling products or machinery as directed.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination is essential.
- Capability to distinguish between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, and ear protection must be worn while working on the production floor.
