Job Summary

MedVanta is seeking a highly skilled Patient Financial Services Lead to join our team. As a key member of our Central Billing Office, you will be responsible for leading a team of financial services representatives and ensuring the efficient and effective management of patient accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collection and Billing: Make outbound collection calls on open balances, assist with the preparation of monthly pre-collection/collection agency files, and complete timely reporting to billing leadership.
  • Account Management: Collect, post, and manage patient accounts, review patient statements, and contact customers with overdue accounts to negotiate payment plans.
  • Insurance and Compliance: Communicate accurate patient and billing/claims information to insurance carriers, update patient insurance, and confirm eligibility and queue claims for billing.
  • Credit Balances and Bad Debt: Review, address, and monitor credit balances to ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations, and evaluate accounts for bad debt placement.
  • Team Leadership: Interact with supporting departments, including coding, cash-ops, and AR follow-up, to resolve billing and payment issues, and conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma
  • Experience: 5+ years of related experience, with experience in an orthopaedic setting preferred
  • Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products, electronic billing systems, and extensive knowledge of insurance, benefits, medical terminology, and medical billing.

  • Organizational Skills: Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment

Physical Demands

The Patient Financial Services Lead must be able to sit for long periods of time, lift up to 25 pounds, and use appropriate body mechanics techniques when performing desk duties. Adequate hearing and visual acuity are also required to perform job duties.
