Job Title: Recovery Advocate

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Recovery Advocate to join our team at Wasatch Crest. As a Recovery Advocate, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive and healing environment for our clients.

Job Summary:

The Recovery Advocate will work closely with our medical and nursing staff to provide care for individuals experiencing withdrawal symptoms from alcohol and drugs. This role requires excellent communication, interpersonal, and administrative skills, as well as the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor residents' whereabouts, activity, and program compliance throughout shift.
  • Conduct inquiry searches, when necessary, for contraband.
  • Conduct inquiry and monitor for substance use, including random UA's.
  • Know, understand, and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, Employee Handbook, and Resident Handbook.
  • Support client needs and provide support in the form of active listening.
  • Know and understand the needs of the population we serve and what resources you could offer that may be helpful to the resident.
  • Be aware and model appropriate personal and professional boundaries.
  • Provide consistent, outcome-oriented interventions.
  • Motivate residents toward positive behavior with neutral, objective, and respectful demeanor without escalating the situation.
  • Show empathy and patience when encountering challenging situations.
  • Support other teams with medications, UAs, admissions, coordination, etc.
  • Adhere to all documentation requirements for state licensure and accreditation agencies.
  • Screen all facility visitors and adhere to sign-in procedures. Maintain client confidentiality.
  • Participate in routinely scheduled trainings.
  • Assist with other administrative duties as needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1 year sobriety if relevant.
  • Must pass random drug screening tests, and TB test.
  • Proficient current computer, small office management, and organization skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including use of tools and technologies.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Valid Utah driver's license and access to a reliable personal vehicle.

Starting Pay: $16 to $18 per hour, depending on experience.
