Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and ambitious Associate Attorney to join our criminal defense team. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong interest in criminal law to develop their skills and gain hands-on experience under the mentorship of a seasoned attorney.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough legal research on various topics within criminal defense.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, motions, and contracts.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, negotiations, and other legal matters.
  • Stay current on changes in legislation, case law, and best practices in criminal defense.
  • Provide legal advice and support to clients, ensuring their rights are protected.
  • Collaborate closely with the lead attorney and other team members to achieve the best outcomes for clients.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar association where practicing is required.
  • Proficiency in using legal research tools such as Westlaw.
  • Experience in criminal law is preferred but not required; a demonstrated passion for criminal defense is essential.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to litigate cases effectively, negotiate settlements, and advocate fiercely for clients.
  • A desire to learn, grow, and eventually develop your own legal practice.
