Optum is seeking a Physician Team Lead to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. As a clinician-led care organization, we are changing the way clinicians work and live.

Our team leads will meet with direct reports monthly, providing performance reviews quarterly with monthly touch points. They will also ensure that clinician team members are in compliance with Optum policies and procedures and serve as the liaison between the People Team for policy interpretation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides diagnosis, treatment, therapy, and management of patients according to current standards of care utilizing best evidence-based practices recommendations.
  • Works collaboratively with patients to provide a Patient-Centered approach to care, adhering to the organization's Patient-Centered mission.
  • Drives organization-specific initiatives, including STAR, HEIDIS, and CAPHS/HOS, and ensures that processes and procedures are in-line with the approved business model.
  • Ensures quality indicators are being met and continuously improved by participating in Quality Meetings.
  • Supervises clinician team members, including coordination of paid time off, CME time, and expense approvals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active and unrestricted medical license in the State of Arizona or ability to obtain prior to employment.
  • Board certification or Board Eligible in Internal or Family Medicine.
  • Current and unrestricted DEA certificate.
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of primary care operations; knowledge of management practices, human relations, consensus building, and collaborative ability.
