Job SummaryThe Senior Clinical Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for conducting moderate to high complexity testing on clinical specimens in various areas of the hospital core laboratory department, including hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, immunology, and chemistry.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct testing on clinical specimens using various laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Perform quality control on all tests and follow-up on out-of-range results.
- Relay critical values to appropriate teams and utilize the laboratory information system (LIS) to document patient examination results.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure accurate and timely test results.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory operations and patient care.
- Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or a related field.
- Minimum of six (6) years of laboratory testing experience in a designated clinical laboratory setting.
- Current New York State License as Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
- Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist - Preferred.
- Knowledge of Laboratory Information System - Preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
