Role Summary:

The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating various machine tools to manufacture precision components and instruments. This role includes tasks performed by precision instrument makers who fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments. Additionally, the machinist may be involved in fabricating and modifying parts to repair machine tools or maintain industrial machinery, utilizing knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining techniques.

Work Schedule:

This position is available for 2nd shift, with hours from 3:15 PM to 11:45 PM, and also for 3rd shift, from 11:30 PM to 7:30 AM, depending on the candidate's preference or availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine Operation: Operate basic equipment and machinery while performing routine tasks.
  • Operational Management: Execute operational tasks in accordance with established processes.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Assist in maintaining and repairing equipment through preparation and support.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment: Adhere to mandatory work instructions to protect the environment and ensure personal and team safety.
  • Compliance: Follow mandatory procedures to guarantee work meets quality standards and complies with regulatory codes.
  • Precision Equipment Use: Utilize precision instruments effectively.
  • Internal Communication: Engage in courteous interactions to exchange information.
  • Policy Adherence: Understand and follow organizational policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of machining experience in a manufacturing or repair setting, operating manual lathes, milling machines, or CNC lathes/mills.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and geometric tolerances.
  • Proficient in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, and depth gauges.

Preferred Skills:

  • Communication: Demonstrates clear and effective verbal communication skills.
  • Planning and Organization: Capable of planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks to meet business objectives.
  • Health and Safety Awareness: Applies basic concepts to ensure safe working practices.
