Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Wireless System Application Engineer to join our Wireless Silicon Design group at Apple. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing state-of-the-art wireless communication systems for next-generation applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and simulate wireless communication systems for emerging applications.
  • Implement system models and investigate innovative architectures, protocols, and algorithms to mitigate the impact of congested radio environments.
  • Collaborate with product teams to develop novel architectures, protocols, and integrated systems to meet the requirements of emerging applications.
  • Perform simulations to prove the effectiveness of designed architectures, protocols, and algorithms, and validate them on emulation systems.
  • Work with firmware designers to realize software implementations and with digital designers to realize power-efficient digital implementations.
  • Bring up, test, and characterize designed algorithms, and optimize performance to achieve targeted performances with production qualities on real silicon in lab.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in developing wireless communications systems, including algorithm designs, architecting, and integrating systems and protocols.
  • In-depth knowledge of wireless communication systems, including hands-on experience with lab testing and characterization.
  • Deep understanding of communication theory and signal processing-related algorithms design.
  • Experience with multi-radio coexistence management, system optimization in congested radio environments, and cross-layer designs.
  • Knowledge of modem and microprocessor architecture.
  • Experience with FW design, Matlab, Python, and/or C/C++ for algorithm development, modeling, and simulation.
  • Knowledge of existing protocols, such as 5G/LTE/WCDMA/GSM, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be, 802.11ad/ay, or Bluetooth/BLE.
