The Emergency Room Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while coordinating all functions within the unit/department during the assigned shift.
In collaboration with the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures, serves as a resource for staff, and exemplifies a commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values to foster an exceptional patient experience and clinical outcomes that enhance overall departmental performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Engage in ongoing assessments of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with the management team.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to cultivate a teamwork environment that supports improved outcomes and service delivery.
- Uphold a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.- Support facility efforts to enhance engagement by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
- Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.- Recommend and implement actions, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions to ensure a competitive organization.
- Assist with staff scheduling and manage labor aspects in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.- Support inventory control and assist in managing supplies and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse
- Associate Degree
- Basic Cardiac Life Support or CPR certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
