Job Summary and Qualifications

The Emergency Room Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while coordinating all functions within the unit/department during the assigned shift.

In collaboration with the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures, serves as a resource for staff, and exemplifies a commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values to foster an exceptional patient experience and clinical outcomes that enhance overall departmental performance.


Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality, patient-centered care.

- Engage in ongoing assessments of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with the management team.

- Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to cultivate a teamwork environment that supports improved outcomes and service delivery.

- Uphold a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.

- Support facility efforts to enhance engagement by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.

- Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.

- Recommend and implement actions, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions to ensure a competitive organization.

- Assist with staff scheduling and manage labor aspects in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
- Support inventory control and assist in managing supplies and equipment.

Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse
- Associate Degree
- Basic Cardiac Life Support or CPR certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Rio Grande Regional Hospital has been serving the community for over 30 years, offering a full range of inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services. Our Emergency Room is a Level III Trauma Center, and we have extended our services throughout the region with multiple remote ER locations.
