We are currently seeking a Communications Systems Engineer to contribute design expertise on significant transit initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid background in rail transit, and a deep understanding of communications systems, coupled with a dedication to high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate within a team to deliver communications systems engineering for rail transit projects, focusing on:
- Radio communication systems
- Display technologies
- Public address systems
- Voice over IP telephone networks
- Fire and emergency telephone systems
- Fiber optic communication networks, including Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM)
- CCTV systems
- Intrusion detection solutions
- Develop comprehensive plans and specifications
- Conduct design calculations
- Prepare detailed design reports
Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 5 years of relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of communications systems principles
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is preferred
- Familiarity with industry standards, practices, and regulations in rail transit
- Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineering registration is advantageous
- Experience in the design or construction of rail transit systems is a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Able to thrive in a collaborative team environment
- Motivated to develop and enhance skills within a supportive setting
