Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Seasonal Server Assistant to join our team at the Balboa Bay Resort & Club. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will play a vital role in ensuring exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Food Servers: Provide support to food servers with setting up and clearing tables, as well as delivering food and water to guests.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure the dining area is clean and organized, and re-set tables as needed.
  • Supply Management: Handle the flow of soiled dishes to the kitchen and provide a clean supply to the dining room.
  • Clearing and Restocking: Clear dishware and flatware as necessary, and restock areas with supplies as directed.
  • Guest Service: Provide expeditious service to each guest, ensuring water glasses are full throughout the meal.
  • Food Safety and Sanitation: Follow all standard food handling, sanitation, and health department guidelines.
  • Safety and Reporting: Report potential safety issues to management and take immediate action to resolve in emergency situations.
  • Attendance and Communication: Report to work as scheduled and accurately communicate the daily menu offering, if requested.
Requirements
  • Experience: Prior food service and hospitality experience highly desired.
  • Knowledge: Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, hotel service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
  • Skills: Ability to serve needs of guests through verbal face-to-face interactions, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and commitment to a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certifications: Must have a valid current Food Handlers Card or willingness and ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
