We are seeking a highly skilled and bilingual individual to join our team as a Bilingual Support Specialist at Stockton Unified School District. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational needs of our students and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide linguistic and cultural support to students, teachers, and families in a bilingual setting.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of educational programs and materials that cater to diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents through translation and interpretation services.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and resources to support student and family needs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field, such as education, linguistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 48 semester units or higher, or proof of certification through a local assessment that meets the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act.
  • Bi-literate proficiency in English and the second language, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a bilingual or multilingual setting.
  • Knowledge of educational programs and policies related to bilingual education.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations, including students, teachers, and families from various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
