Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Functional Safety Manager to join our team at NXP. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for delivering state-of-the-art functional safety products to the automotive and industrial markets, compliant with ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the development of SoCs as Safety Elements out of Context (SEooC) through their entire lifecycle, working closely with SoC Design Teams.
- Prepare safety products for functional safety assessment and certification.
- Lead safety requirements management and traceability.
- Develop and maintain safety architectures using SysML.
- Support customer safety design win and design-in activities for MPU safety products.
Requirements:
- Excellent working knowledge of ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.
- Experience in complex SoC development compliant to ISO26262: Part 11.
- Experience with Safety Audits/Assessments.
- Experience in Safety Analysis Techniques (FTA, DFA, FMEDA), Fault Injection.
- Experience in safety use case analysis to derive system/SoC safety requirements from customer safety requirements and application use cases.
- Experience in modeling, requirements management, and safety analysis tools.
- Proven track record of leading SoC functional safety products through all lifecycle phases and ensuring safety standard compliance.
Desirable Skills:
- Contribution to the functional safety expert community within NXP to improve processes, product features, and marketing of these features to customers.
- Organization and leadership of cross-functional teams to achieve compliance to functional safety standards and procedures.
- Conducting safety reviews to ensure correct implementation of safety features in HW & SW.
- Reporting to management on compliance status, gaps, and mitigation actions.
- Supporting NXP customers in using safety work products developed by the NXP Safety Team.
Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering or other similar discipline with at least 15 years of relevant experience.
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with 10 or more years of experience preferred.
