OVERVIEW
The Strategic Category Consultant for Kids Products plays a pivotal role in driving growth for Kids2's Baby Toy segment. This position collaborates closely with the purchasing team to achieve category goals by leveraging consumer insights, data analytics, modular design, and assortment planning while tracking progress against strategic objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement exemplary category management practices while enhancing Consumer & Shopper Insights to foster business expansion and maintain the existing customer base. Analyze competitor product assortments, pricing, and merchandising strategies, providing actionable recommendations for improvements.
- Develop tailored category plans with objective analysis, interpretation, and suggestions aimed at enhancing overall category performance.
- Oversee the modular review process, including analysis, updates, and execution.
- Collaborate on assortment strategies and lead planogram development initiatives.
- Conduct promotional evaluations to deliver insights for optimization.
- Maintain and refresh layout center modular setups.
- Provide on-demand analysis, reporting, store resets, and meeting support as required by the Kids2 team.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of marketing, sales, shopper insights, corporate strategy, and retail operations and planning.
- Engage in store resets to refine the modular update process.
- Lead category expertise to drive innovation and enhance performance.
- Regularly share updates on shopper insights and identify potential opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 3 years in a Business/Category management capacity.
- Experience as a Category Consultant or a blend of category/product management, sales, and/or consumer insights.
- Familiarity with JDA Space Planning (Blue Yonder).
- Understanding of modular planning processes.
- Proficient in analytics and data storytelling.
- Experience in Consumer Product Goods (CPG) and/or the baby/toddler sector is preferred.
EDUCATION & SKILLS:
- A Bachelor's Degree in marketing, business administration, analytics, or a related discipline.
- Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
- Capability to analyze data and derive actionable insights.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and presentation skills.
- Experience in leading and collaborating within cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, organize, and plan effectively.
- Experience in strategically influencing and persuading internal and external stakeholders through clear and concise communication.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Proficiency in JDA Space Planning, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Office-based role with a hybrid work model.
