Position Summary


The Surgical Technician is responsible for supporting the surgical team by performing scrub duties in the operating room, ensuring a sterile environment and assisting with patient care. This role involves working with a diverse patient population, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The technician will also participate in on-call duties as needed.



Essential Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma and completion of an accredited surgical technician program are mandatory.

It is essential for the employee to secure Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within the first month of employment and to maintain this certification throughout their tenure.

Non-compliance with certification requirements may lead to disciplinary actions.

REPORTING STRUCTURE:
Directly reports to the Nurse Director or Charge Nurse of the assigned surgical cases.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room.
2. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient care.
3. Maintain a sterile field and adhere to safety protocols.
4. Support nursing staff in the care of surgical patients.
