About the Position
Suffolk University is seeking a visionary and collaborative Department Chair and Associate Professor (Tenure Track) for the Interior Architecture and Design program. As a key member of the Art and Design Department, you will oversee the administration, operations, and optimization of the department, including its programs, budget, faculty, staff, and facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and oversee all academic programs, accreditation, periodic program review, curriculum, and course scheduling
- Manage the department's budget, faculty review and development, and supervision of departmental staff
- Oversight and coordination of facilities and departmental spaces, including the University Gallery and Maker Space
- Teach 3 courses in the BFA and MA degree programs in Interior Design and Architecture
- Engage in creative activity/studio practice
Requirements
- Terminal degree in a relevant discipline
- Prior teaching, administrative, and faculty/staff mentoring experience
- Evidence of teaching excellence with both undergraduate and graduate students
