Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Taper Finisher to join our team. As a Taper Finisher, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality finishes on our projects. This includes laying out and installing drywall beads, preparing surfaces for drywall finishes, and applying joint compound to achieve a smooth finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Surface Preparation: Ensure all drywall surfaces are properly prepared to receive drywall finishes.
- Joint Compound Application: Mix, carry, and apply joint compound to achieve a smooth finish.
- Taping and Finishing: Tape, coat, and sand joint compound to ensure a seamless finish.
- Texture Application: Hand or machine texture walls or ceilings as per plans and specifications.
- Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety rules and regulations.
- Material Handling: Move materials, tools, and equipment as needed.
- Scaffold Erection: Erect and dismantle scaffolds as required.
Requirements
- Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with company safety policies and OSHA standards.
- Tool Proficiency: Knowledge and ability to use tools, materials, and equipment necessary for completing finish carpentry projects.
- Mathematical Skills: Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and understand blueprints and plans.
- Measurement Skills: Ability to accurately measure materials.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift over 100 lbs occasionally, 50-60 lbs frequently, and 15 lbs regularly.
- Visual Acuity: Correctable vision to at least 20/40 for tool use and task performance.
