At CDM, we're committed to delivering exceptional quality and service to our clients. As a Taper Finisher, you'll play a crucial role in helping us achieve this goal.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Layout and install drywall beads to ensure a smooth finish.
  2. Prepare drywall surfaces for finishing products, ensuring a high-quality finish.
  3. Mix, apply, and sand joint compound to achieve a seamless finish.
  4. Tape, coat, and finish joint compound to meet our high standards.
  5. Hand or machine texture walls and ceilings to meet client specifications.
  6. Clean up, protect, and move materials, tools, and equipment to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  7. Erect and dismantle scaffolds to ensure safe access to work areas.
  8. Adhere to all safety rules and regulations, including OSHA standards.
  9. Calculate unit costs based on material installed, hours worked, and labor dollars.
  10. Arrive on time at various locations and participate in required training programs.
  11. Conform to all company policies and procedures.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Ability to learn and adhere to company safety policies and OSHA standards.
  • Knowledge of tools, materials, and equipment necessary for finish carpentry projects.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Accurate measurement skills and ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to work at heights, including ladders, scaffolds, and stilts.
  • Teamwork and communication skills, with frequent one-on-one and group interactions.
  • Lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy materials and equipment.
  • Reaching above shoulder height and at shoulder level with tools and materials.
  • Stooping and bending to cut wood and metal studs.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Climbing scaffolds up to 3-4 stories or higher, as needed.
  • Full use of fingers and hands for manual dexterity.
  • Simultaneous mental alertness and muscular coordination.
  • Correctable vision to at least 20/40 for tool use and task performance.
