OVERVIEW
We are seeking an Optical Fabrication Technician Assistant to support operations within our Optical Fabrication Lab. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth production of eyewear at our facility.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Optical Fabrication Technician Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the optical fabrication process. Key responsibilities include:
- Understanding and applying knowledge of optical fabrication terminology, including lens types, powers, and frame specifications.
- Assisting in manual lens processing, including fining, polishing, de-blocking, and washing.
- Preparing eyewear for shipment and managing shipping logistics.
- Maintaining equipment and performing tasks such as block making and wax reclamation.
- Operating various ophthalmic manufacturing devices, including Surface Blockers, Lens Generators, and Edging Machines.
This position requires flexibility to rotate through different production phases, ensuring efficient workflow in the lab.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in an optical laboratory environment.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- U.S. citizenship.
