About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team at Sevita. As a Behavior Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful implementation of behavior management programs for individuals we serve.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with individuals served, building trust and rapport through effective communication and empathy.
  • Implement behavior management techniques and interventions in accordance with treatment plans, utilizing sound judgment and seeking consultation as needed.
  • Collaborate with families and treatment team members to provide effective behavior management, minimizing disruption to the environment and other individuals.
  • Educate parents/guardians on reinforcement and intervention strategies, providing them with the tools and knowledge to support their loved ones.
  • Promote safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors, fostering a repertoire of communication, social interaction, and problem-solving skills.
  • Review progress of individuals served objectively, identifying solutions to barriers and making recommendations to supervisors and behavior analysts as needed.
  • Accurately collect and record behavior data, including A-B-C, count, frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, event, and interval-based recording.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of documentation, including staff and individual-related records.
  • Complete incident reports as required by agency policy and procedure.
  • Review daily updates for individuals served, implementing programs and training staff as needed.
  • Ensure proper implementation and retraining by regularly communicating with staff.
  • Schedule and prepare leisure activities to keep individuals engaged and active during non-therapy sessions.
  • Attend clinical meetings, including access review meetings, clinical team meetings, progress conferences, and other assigned meetings.
  • Responsible for providing up-to-date residential status of participants and identifying problem areas affecting the participant, following through with solutions based on clinical team recommendations.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, Associate's, or Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience working with youth, families, and individuals with developmental disabilities
  • RBT Credential preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to establish trust and rapport quickly
  • A good listener with the ability to empathize while providing guidance
