Fathom, a leading digital manufacturing platform, is seeking a skilled Mold Maker to join our team. As a Mold Maker, you will play a critical role in constructing, repairing, and maintaining plastic injection molds.
Key Responsibilities:- Design Review Meetings: Attend design review meetings to ensure new tools meet production standards.
- Mold Maintenance: Construct, repair, and maintain plastic injection molds to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot injection molds to identify and repair issues, including broken components, part flash, and sticking parts.
- Component Repair: Repair or replace damaged components, such as ejector pins, core pins, and cam pins.
- Quality Control: Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Inventory Management: Maintain tooling inventory by notifying supervisors of parts needed.
- Process Improvement: Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase shop efficiencies.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in tool and die preferred.
- Experience: 5 years of mold making experience.
- Skills: AutoCAD experience, SolidWorks experience, and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, predictive maintenance, and 5S.
- Physical Demands: Frequently required to stand and regularly lift up to 30 pounds.
