Radiation Therapist Job Summary

As a Radiation Therapist at Presbyterian Healthcare Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and accurate delivery of radiation therapy treatment. Your primary responsibility will be to administer radiation therapy treatment, ensuring that the patient receives the correct dose and that all necessary safety protocols are followed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer safe and accurate radiation therapy treatment.
  • Ensure accurate treatment delivery and data capture.
  • Gather necessary set-up aids and prepare room and equipment for patient.
  • Demonstrate manual dexterity and psychomotor skills to operate and manipulate treatment units.
  • Visually monitor patient for unusual reactions and report to radiation oncologist.
  • Explain treatment procedure to patient, answer questions, and defer those not within competence to radiation oncologist.
  • Recognize patient needs and respond appropriately.
  • Refer patient to other allied health specialists.
