Job Summary

The Certified Nurses Aide/CNA (STNA-State Tested Nursing Assistant) at The Bridge at Lawrenceville delivers daily assisted living services through interpersonal contact, focusing on maximizing residents' individual capabilities in accordance with laws, regulations, and community standards. This role reports to the Resident Care Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living as designated in care plans, including dressing, toileting, hair care, and bathing.
  • Read and respond to 24-hour logs at the beginning of each shift.
  • Makes routine rounds as scheduled and checks with residents to ensure care needs are being met.
  • Assist residents with clothing choices, ensuring they are clean and stain-free.
  • Assist incontinent residents, checking clothing and linens regularly to keep them clean and dry.
  • Assist residents during meal times in the dining area.
  • Encourage residents to participate in activities.
  • Remind residents of daily dental care and shaving, if applicable.
  • Shampoo hair weekly, unless done by a beautician.
  • Make beds daily.
  • Prepare residents for activities, meals, appointments, and other events.
  • Deliver meals and assist with set-up or feeding as needed.
  • Verify residents' presence at meals and check on those not attending, unless notified otherwise in advance.
  • Clean up spills by residents and alert housekeeping for follow-up.
  • Report all changes in resident conditions to the Nurse, Resident Care Director, or Executive Director.
  • Welcome new residents and assist with their adjustment to the community.
  • Assist residents with unpacking, storing, labeling, and inventorying belongings upon move-in.
  • Assist residents with packing belongings when being transferred.
  • Comply with infection control guidelines.
Essential Functions
  • Respond promptly to call lights.
  • Assist with the evacuation of residents and support them in times of crisis.
  • Deliver quality services to residents.
  • Accurately document and chart residents' care.
  • Assist residents with baths, showers, personal grooming, feeding, and toileting.
  • Lift, turn, move, position, and transport residents as needed.
  • Communicate and function effectively in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards residents.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Practice regular and predictable attendance.
  • Follow company policies, including harassment, code of ethics, complaint procedures, safety, sanitation, confidentiality, dress code, and resident rights.
  • Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment.
  • Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, and move intermittently during working hours.
  • Lift 35 pounds from floor to waist, 35 pounds from waist to shoulder, 35 pounds lift and carry, and push/pull 35 pounds.
