Position Overview

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine, is looking for a Business Administrator to enhance the department's research objectives.

We encourage professionals with direct supervisory experience and extensive management responsibilities in clinical research and financial oversight to consider this opportunity. The role involves the daily administration of the department's research functions, including financial oversight, and fostering strong partnerships with the Office of Clinical Research and Sponsored Research Services. The Business Administrator will provide strategic recommendations and guidance to management on process-related matters, ensuring compliance with local, state, federal, and university regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the financial, administrative, and operational functions of a large, diverse unit with significant income generation.
  • Manage personnel functions and supervise the annual salary review process.
  • Coordinate budget development and monitor grants and contracts.
  • Establish purchasing priorities and recommend major capital investments.
  • Act as a seasoned professional with extensive expertise.
  • Perform additional duties as required by departmental needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience; -OR- Associate's degree with five (5) years of experience; -OR- seven (7) years of experience in a related field.
  • Required financial and administrative experience, including three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • The candidate must possess the necessary business and financial acumen to effectively execute most or all job assignments.
