Your Responsibilities

As a Security Systems Specialist at Johnson Controls, you will serve as a key troubleshooter and service expert, equipped with the knowledge and experience to manage intrusion detection, IP CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems from various manufacturers. You will utilize your strong communication skills to assess customer needs and guide them through the necessary steps to restore system functionality. Your role will also involve inspecting systems to ensure optimal performance and providing detailed reports to both customers and the company.

Key Tasks Include:

  • Diagnosing and resolving issues with malfunctioning equipment or wiring.
  • Adjusting, repairing, or replacing faulty equipment and conducting operational tests.
  • Coordinating inspections and installations with relevant authorities.
  • Performing repairs and inspections on intrusion detection, IP CCTV, access control systems, and fire alarms (if applicable).
  • Assisting fellow technicians with system repairs and executing minor repairs such as battery replacements.
  • Testing system operations to ensure connectivity with the customer monitoring center.
  • Accurately completing all required documentation and customer paperwork.
  • Providing recommendations to enhance facility efficiency, including upselling opportunities.
  • Delivering quotes to support your recommendations and solutions.

Qualifications We Seek

Essential Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in the low-voltage or security sector.
  • Strong knowledge of major security manufacturer platforms.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to pass comprehensive background and identity checks.
  • Proficient in Access Controls, CCTV, Burglary, and Fire Alarms in commercial settings.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools.
  • Capability to safely unload and operate ladders.
  • Commitment to safe operation of fleet vehicles.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with systems from Bosch/Radionics, Honeywell, Firelite, Silent Knight, DMP, DSC, etc.
