POSITION SUMMARY

The Staff Accountant will oversee general ledger activities and provide grant management assistance to fulfill the organization's reporting obligations. This role necessitates the management of financial requirements and precise monitoring of financial reporting. The Staff Accountant must maintain high confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in protecting company records while collaborating with grantors, grantees, and Health Federation personnel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducts monthly balance sheet reconciliations and general accounting tasks.
  • Reconciles bank accounts, cash receipts, and disbursements.
  • Prepares and processes bi-weekly payroll and labor distribution entries.
  • Updates and maintains financial reporting schedules.
  • Assists in the month-end closing process.
  • Manages, reconciles, and uploads American Express transactions.
  • Prepares schedules for audit support.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business.
Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in general ledger management.
  • Familiarity with federal grant compliance and requirements.
  • Experience in non-profit accounting; knowledge of Blackbaud Financial Edge software is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Standard office setting with extended periods at the workstation and occasional use of office equipment.

WORK SCHEDULE
Full-time position: typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Flexible office schedule options may be available with supervisor approval.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Occasional travel to off-site locations may be necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to routinely transport materials and move equipment or supplies weighing up to 30 lbs.
