We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Administer all therapy modalities to adult, pediatric, and newborn patients per physician's orders.
- Initiate, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilators for all age groups.
- Perform arterial puncture, and blood gas and electrolyte analysis.
- Respond to all rapid response and code blue calls.
- Adhere to established quality control procedures.
- Verify all physician orders prior to therapy.
- Conduct thorough, accurate reports to oncoming staff.
- Enter all patient contacts into Meditech.
- Participate in all areas of departmental duties, including assistance in new employee orientation, precepting students, and continuing education.
- Perform regular equipment rounds.
- Preferred - One year experience in area of clinical expertise to which applying.
- Minimum 1 year of NICU experience.
- Required - Graduate of an accredited School of Respiratory Care (Associates degree).
- Preferred - B.S. degree or currently enrolled in B.S. program.
- Required - Current VA license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner or License pending State Board results.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers through the AHA or CPR through the American Red Cross.
- Preferred - Certified Respiratory Therapist and/or Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE.
