Tool Crib Inventory Control Specialist

In the role of Tool Crib Inventory Control Specialist, you will oversee the management of tooling and stock parts inventory within the organization. Your responsibilities will include the distribution, collection, and maintenance of tools and equipment essential for manufacturing processes, along with keeping meticulous records of all tool transactions. Success in this position requires strong organizational abilities, a high degree of accuracy, and the capacity to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Customer Service, and Purchasing teams to ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Issue and distribute hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials, and equipment to staff.
  • Review and validate the fulfillment of Vendor Managed Inventory in vending machines.
  • Maintain a perpetual inventory of tools and stock using computerized systems.
  • Receive, unpack, and store incoming tools and equipment, assessing stock levels to create requisitions for replenishment. Mark and identify tools using appropriate identification methods.
  • Inspect tools for damage or wear, locate lost tools, and collect tools at the end of shifts as necessary.
  • Ensure the Tool Crib area is clean and organized, adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
  • Keep an accurate log of daily inventory movements, scanning, and counting.
  • Assist the Shipping and Receiving Department as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in scanning and sorting stock.
  • Background in receiving, stocking, pulling, packing, and loading.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and effective time management.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in a manufacturing tool crib environment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
  • Forklift certification required within 90 days of employment.
  • Familiarity with Radio Frequency (RF) equipment is advantageous.
