Job Summary

A-Line is seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic to join our team. As a Trailer Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all company-owned flatbed and van truck trailers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure trailers meet U.S. Department of Transportation road safety requirements.
  • Repair brakes, electrical systems, suspensions, alignments, and tires.
  • Maintain wheel hubs and axles, adjust or replace them when required.
  • Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Maintain work logs, compile inspection reports, document repairs, and report findings to management.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of air brakes, electrical, and ABS brake systems preferred.
  • Ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills.
  • Proficient in diagnostic software.
Physical Requirements
  • Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
  • Must be able to see details at close range.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
Working Conditions
  • Must provide your own tools and tool storage.
  • Must be able to work overtime when needed.
  • Must be able to work inside and/or outside and be exposed to all weather elements, including extreme heat, wind, rain, snow, and freezing temperatures.
  • Must be able to work in conditions that are exposed to loud noise, heavy vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, and around hazardous and/or non-hazardous materials.
