Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Night Shift Supervisor to join our team at Holman Logistics. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing daily shift operations, ensuring the efficient and safe movement of goods, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Shift Operations Management: Directly oversee daily shift operations, including selection, shipping, receiving, cross-docking, interleaving, and trailer loading operations.
  • Workforce Management: Supervise the daily activity of warehouse and dispatch team members, assign work, and monitor productivity to ensure high standards of quality, accuracy, housekeeping, product damage minimization, safety, and overall efficiency.
  • Inventory Management: Plan assignments and monitor activities to ensure the proper paperwork flow, consolidation of product, and the locating of missing product to enhance customer satisfaction by reducing irregularities.
  • Customer Service: Confers with customers, supervisors, contractors, and other personnel to exchange information and to resolve problems.
  • Safety and Compliance: Promotes safety in work processes and team member performance by supporting company and/or facility safety programs, educating team members, and ensuring a generally safe work environment.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepares, compiles, and submits reports on work activities, operations, and work-related accidents.
  • Team Development: Conducts start-up shift meetings, ensures that facility is maintained clean and in an orderly fashion, and works to maintain high levels of team member morale and recognition.
  • Training and Development: Responsible for the training, coaching, and feedback of warehouse and dispatch team members, and performs regular evaluations of team members through factual data and subjective observations.
  • Problem-Solving: Investigates operational errors to determine the cause and recommends corrective action where needed.
  • Leadership and Communication: Confers with management personnel to establish and maintain inventory accuracy and quality control standards, and coordinates shift handoff activities to obtain optimum distribution and utilization of human resources, machines, equipment, and material.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED). Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: One to two years of previous work experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Computer Skills: Basic personal computer skills, including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. Strong working knowledge of MS Office to include Excel, Outlook, and Word. Ability to master internal computer systems.
  • Certificates and Licenses: Valid State Driver's License; Forklift Certification.
