Job Summary:

As a Construction Inspector, you will be responsible for performing quality control construction observations for various highway roadway and bridge construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quality control construction observations for highway roadway and bridge construction projects, including general site work, maintenance, and protection of traffic.
  • Read and interpret contract documents and construction plans to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Monitor and track construction sequencing, cost, scheduling, and performance decisions to ensure project success.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of construction project activities, including document control and quality assurance documentation.
  • Ensure quality and uniformity in records of various contracts within the overall program.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of related experience in roadway inspection and maintenance, including earthwork, subbase, concrete, and asphalt pavement, drainage, lighting, guiderail, and striping for rehabilitation and new construction.
  • Bridge construction experience (rehabilitation and new) is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • NICET certification is preferred.
  • Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of NCDOT road specifications is a plus.
