Key Responsibilities:
  • Construction Site Inspection: Conduct regular on-site inspections to monitor construction activities, verify compliance with approved plans and specifications, and identify any deviations or non-compliance issues.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality of workmanship and materials used in the construction process, perform tests and measurements to validate material specifications, and monitor critical construction phases.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and compliance documents, prepare comprehensive inspection reports, and document any changes or modifications made during construction.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with NCDOT staff and construction site superintendents to resolve construction-related issues and participate in construction progress meetings to provide updates on inspections and address concerns.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, monitor safety protocols, and promote a safe working environment for all construction personnel.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Relevant certifications in construction inspection, such as ABC Sampling Technician, Borrow Pit Sampling Technician, and Concrete Field Technician (NCDOT).
  • 2 years of previous experience in construction inspection or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and observational skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions based on inspection findings.
Working Conditions:

Construction Inspectors typically work on construction sites and may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. They may need to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate construction schedules and deadlines.
