Job Title: Ophthalmic Technician - Perimetry

We are seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Technician - Perimetry to join our team at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for performing visual field tests, tonometry, visual acuity testing, and eye drop instillation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform manual and automated visual field testing, including Goldmann, Humphrey, Octopus, and Maia Microperimetry Visual Fields.
  • Enter data into devices, PACS, and EPIC.
  • Read lens corrections from lensometer.
  • Participate in research studies within the Department of Ophthalmology.
  • May perform tonometry, visual acuity testing, and eye drop instillation.
Requirements:
  • Three (3) years of healthcare experience involving direct patient care, including some use and maintenance of specialized medical equipment.
  • At least one year of experience at the level of a Clinical Technician II or equivalent.
  • JCAHPO certified (COA) within 18 months of hire, and maintain certification.
