Job Title: In-house Recovery Coordinator

DCI Donor Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced In-house Recovery Coordinator to join our team. As a critical care specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the process of procuring the gift of organ donation. Your nursing background and expertise will be invaluable in assessing the compatibility of organs for recipients and expediting the surgical and technical processes to package and transfer the organs for transplant quickly and safely.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate patient suitability for organ donation by reviewing medical records and consulting with medical staff.
  • Coordinate organ placement and allocation with transplant programs and surgeons.
  • Coordinate and assist in the surgical recovery of organs and peri-operative management, including logistics such as arranging transportation, ensuring surgical packaging, and preparing lab specimens for shipment.
  • Provide support to donor families and conduct medical/social history interviews.
  • Partner with hospital leadership to improve donation metrics, protocols, and policy.
  • Develop and present hospital educational programs and status reports based on strategic goals.
  • Update donor information into electronic medical records.
Requirements:
  • Two plus years of prior experience in a critical care setting.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and multitask.
  • Exceptional teamwork, interpersonal, communication, and conflict management skills.
  • Registered Nursing (RN) License.
  • Valid Driver's License with the ability to pass MVR underwriting requirements.
