We are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team at Jobot. As a key member of our preconstruction team, you will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and bids for a variety of construction projects, including commercial ground-up and commercial projects, healthcare construction, and education construction.

Responsibilities
  • Estimating and Bidding: Analyze architectural blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects.
  • Estimate Preparation: Prepare detailed, multi-disciplinary estimates for commercial ground-up, commercial projects, healthcare construction, and education construction.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to gather details and compile estimates.
  • Risk Analysis: Conduct risk analysis to identify potential issues or obstacles and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Bid Preparation and Submission: Participate in bid preparation and submission process, ensuring all estimates are accurate, competitive, and submitted on time.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Track and record all estimation documentation, maintaining a comprehensive database of materials and labor costs.
  • Consultation and Support: Provide consultation on planning, scheduling, and cost control methods during the preconstruction phase.
  • Industry Knowledge and Best Practices: Continuously monitor industry trends and advancements to stay current on construction cost estimating best practices.
Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on commercial ground-up, commercial projects, healthcare construction, and education construction.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements. Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen eye for detail. Proficiency in construction estimating software and other relevant computer applications. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present estimates and proposals in a clear and concise manner.
