The Director serves as a hands-on technical expert and thought leader for the IT team and key stakeholders across the organization, focusing on innovation and the implementation of leading technology practices to enhance service delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define and implement the infrastructure and operations strategy, policies, and standards to align with business objectives and mitigate risks.
  • Monitor application accessibility to ensure the infrastructure is adaptable to evolving business needs and technological advancements.
  • Establish a ticketing system for technology-related requests and develop protocols for timely and accurate ticket resolution.
  • Supervise IT technical personnel and manage resources to guarantee the delivery of high-quality services, solutions, and projects.
  • Implement customer service excellence practices for all stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Foster collegial relationships within the organization, promoting a supportive and collaborative environment for idea exchange.
  • Develop talent within the department and create initiatives to enhance service to team members and improve productivity.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networks, backup systems, disaster recovery, and monitoring solutions.
  • Evaluate processes and formulate an IT roadmap strategy to ensure that hardware and software align with organizational needs and standards.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and research on the evolving nature of IT and its impact on the sector.
  • Advise leadership on financial considerations through the development of an IT budget.
  • Manage IT projects throughout their lifecycle to ensure timely completion within budget, providing technical guidance to resolve complex challenges.
  • Assess and select vendors and technology partners that offer optimal value and support.
  • Negotiate and manage vendor contracts, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and prompt resolution of any issues.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Operations, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in IT Infrastructure and Operations Management, preferably within the AEC industry.
  • Experience in managing the transition from legacy systems to modern tools.
  • Strong expertise in networking, cloud computing, virtualization, and other relevant technologies.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
