Job Title: Research Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Associate to join our team at the Center for Surgical Innovation at Dartmouth. The successful candidate will have a strong background in biomedical engineering, medical physics, or a related field, with expertise in biomedical modeling, image processing, data visualization, and real-time data acquisition and processing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and conduct experiments to achieve project objectives
  • Analyze and interpret acquired data
  • Stay current on relevant literature and learn new techniques
  • Conduct day-to-day research activities independently as assigned
  • Participate in leadership roles in surgical OR data collection, analyses, and instrumentation operation during cases
  • Share objectives, results, interpretation, and conclusions with research team
  • Prepare, submit, and shepherd journal manuscripts as needed
  • Presents results at scientific conferences as needed
  • Maintains records of research activities, data collection, and data analyses
Requirements:
  • PhD in a relevant field (biomedical engineering, medical physics, medical imaging/image processing or equivalent) with a publication history or equivalent experience
  • Expertise in biomedical modeling, image processing, data visualization, real-time data acquisition and processing
  • Demonstrated strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary professional environment such as the OR
