Senior Pharmacist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Pharmacist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Senior Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in guiding our team members to carry out daily operations of the Pharmacy Department, ensuring efficient and timely service delivery.

• Leadership and Guidance: Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure the smooth operation of the Pharmacy Department.
• Workflow Coordination: Coordinate workflow to facilitate efficient and timely delivery of pharmaceutical services and maintain safe dispensing practices.
• Scheduling and Staff Management: Prepare, assess, and distribute work schedules, and report any discrepancies to management.
• Medication Management: Select, prepare, and dispense drug products to fill inpatient and outpatient prescriptions, and maintain inventory and records of investigational drugs, control substances, and methadone.
• Compounding and Sterile Products: Manufacture, prepare, and label compounds, solutions, and other sterile products.
• Quality Improvement: Participate in the development and implementation of new programs to meet departmental goals and improve services.
• Patient Care: Conduct pre-admission/discharge patient medication interviews, review patient charts and nursing medications charting documents, and ensure accurate patient profiles.
• Inventory Management: Ensure drugs are reordered as per hospital policy and procedure.

• Education: Bachelor of Pharmacy required.
• Licensure: Current License to practice as a Pharmacist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
• Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience required.
