About the Role

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber, Inc. (FTCH) is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer/Project Manager to join our team in a municipal engineering capacity. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent client interaction skills, and the ability to plan and manage design and construction engineering efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Development: Develop proposals, permits, project plans, and schedules to ensure successful project execution.
  • Project Management: Manage the design, development, and implementation of municipal projects, including representation at public meetings and contract negotiation.
  • Design Direction: Provide design direction for less experienced staff and assist in developing and providing technical mentorship.
  • Client Liaison: Represent clients at public meetings, perform contract negotiation and administration, and project budgeting.
  • Technical Expertise: Design municipal public works and utility projects, construction contract administration, project management, and client contact.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing and technical staff to assist in proposal writing and interact daily with staff in a multi-office environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience: 10+ years of civil/municipal experience working with local governments.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Licensed PE (MI PE preferred or able to acquire via reciprocity within 6 months).
  • Skills: Strong public presentation and solid written and verbal communication skills, experience utilizing AutoCAD and Civil3D for bidding document preparation, and previous project management and client liaison experience.
