Core Responsibilities:
- Research and Development:
- Serve as the primary investigator for critical care research focused on therapies, devices, or clinical pathways.
- Possess existing funding or a clear strategy for securing extramural or intramural funding to support research and scholarly activities.
- Engage in research through clinical trials, translational research, implementation science, and other recognized methodologies.
- Deliver critical care services across various academic center critical care units.
- Provide instruction and demonstrate essential medical and research techniques to medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Participate actively in departmental and divisional educational initiatives.
- Contribute to the mission of providing the highest standard of care.
- Fulfill responsibilities related to teaching, research, and academic duties.
We seek an individual who is enthusiastic about advancing critical care medicine through innovative clinical and translational research, coupled with outstanding patient care. A commitment to excellence in healthcare, education, and research is essential.
Essential Qualifications:
- MD/DO or equivalent medical degree.
- Successful completion of an Internal Medicine residency, subspecialty fellowship, and Critical Care fellowship from an ACGME accredited program, with board certification or eligibility in Critical Care Medicine.
- Experience as a critical care investigator and clinician.
- Strong dedication to the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Fellowship experience in established Critical Care clinician and investigator roles.
- Ability to secure research funding.
- Eligibility for licensure in Kansas and Missouri.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Board certification or eligibility in Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine.
- Established experience as a critical care investigator and clinician.
- Demonstrated success in clinical research, particularly within the domain of Critical Care Medicine.
