Assessment Coordinator

The primary role of the Assessment Coordinator is to deliver comprehensive testing support services for faculty, students, military personnel, and the broader community.
This position is responsible for providing guidance, routine direction, daily oversight, training, and consultation to testing center staff, including full-time coordinators, temporary personnel, and student workers, regarding testing policies, procedures, and anticipated outcomes.
Additionally, this role will offer administrative assistance to the Director of Testing Services.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required. Experience may substitute for formal education.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and familiarity with Banner software is preferred.
Experience:
1. A minimum of one (1) year of customer service or related office experience is required.
2. Experience in test administration or related operations is strongly preferred.
3. Previous work experience in a college or university setting is highly desirable.
Licenses and Certifications:
Criminal history check and a valid driver's license are required. Additional background checks may be necessary for specific testing requirements.
Key Skills and Competencies:
Attention to detail, budget management skills, effective communication (oral, written, and nonverbal), knowledge of university environments, strong interpersonal skills, leadership abilities including organization and project management, and supervisory skills such as motivation and evaluation are essential.
Furthermore, the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive test materials and student data is crucial.
Candidates should be capable of working independently with minimal supervision and possess the ability to engage with students professionally to assess their needs.
Physical and Environmental Considerations:
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work under varying conditions, including travel for training and irregular hours based on testing schedules.
Special Working Conditions:
Evening and weekend availability may be required to supervise and proctor tests, along with maintaining communication with the Director and testing staff.
Certification Requirement:
Successful candidates must achieve certification to administer all exams offered by Testing Services within three months of employment.
