Position Overview:
The Pediatric Speech Therapist II is responsible for conducting evaluations, providing treatment, and delivering care for individuals experiencing challenges with cognitive functions, speech, language, voice, and fluency. This role requires building trust and collaboration with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals through thorough assessments, vigilant monitoring, and clear communication. Compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures is essential to ensure patient privacy and safety while delivering high-quality care. The position also involves overseeing the clinical activities of assistants and aides, as well as serving as a mentor for assigned students.
Job Responsibilities:
EDUCATION:
Master's degree from an accredited speech pathology program or equivalent educational background.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
Licensed Speech Pathologist (SP) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Decisive judgment and the capacity to work autonomously.
- Familiarity with professional practice standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency in computer systems and relevant technologies.
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities, conflict resolution, teamwork, customer service, and community engagement skills.
- Capacity to absorb and apply new knowledge and skills effectively.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with advancements in the field.
