Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled VIP Upholstery Fabricator to join our esteemed team. This role involves the meticulous upholstery of custom interior components and the assembly of seating units intended for aircraft installation or modification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expertly cut and sew leather and fabric to recover parts such as interior panels and seating.
- Assist in the shaping and buildup of foam for aircraft seating.
- Construct seat shrouds, cut cushions, and apply upholstery to seats, tables, and other equipment, adhering to customer specifications and engineering designs.
- Sew, fabricate, and install covers for various panel styles within the aircraft interior, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Interpret material specifications and engineering drawings to guarantee that the final product aligns with design requirements.
- Maintain a work environment that upholds the highest safety standards, ensuring compliance with regulations to prevent accidents.
- Implement good housekeeping practices consistently.
- Accurately tag and store aircraft components, parts, and panels, following established procedures.
- Document procedures and signoffs in accordance with the Repair Station Quality Manual.
- Ensure proper usage and handling of tools and equipment to minimize wear and breakage.
- Return tools, GSE, and ground equipment to their designated storage areas after use.
- Continuously seek process improvements and enhance efficiency while prioritizing safety.
- Maintain regular communication with the Lead Technician or Supervisor regarding progress and any potential challenges.
- Engage with customers in a professional and respectful manner.
- Deliver exceptional service and uphold safety standards, aiming to exceed customer satisfaction with timely delivery of airworthy and reliable aircraft.
- Participate in training sessions as required by the company.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- A minimum of one year of experience in custom V/VVIP upholstery.
- At least six years of overall upholstery experience.
- Proficient in both oral and written English.
- Must arrive with a personal set of standard trade-specific tools.
- Over four years of experience in V/VVIP custom aircraft upholstery.
