The Transportation Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of residents to and from appointments, events, and within the facility. This position requires effective collaboration with team members to deliver quality care and manage available resources.
Key Responsibilities- Transport residents to outside physician visits in a safe and timely manner.
- Assist with transporting residents within the facility to scheduled appointments and activities.
- Provide one-on-one monitoring for residents deemed at risk of elopement during outside visits.
- Perform basic nursing care procedures as required.
- Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents and ensure their needs are met.
- Maintain accurate resident documentation records.
- Adhere to established departmental, center, and corporate policies and procedures.
- Participate in scheduled training and educational programs to enhance quality of care.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license in the state of employment.
- Graduate of an approved Nurse Aide Training Program or eligible to enter such a program and graduate within 120 days.
- Red Cross First Aid Certificate.
- Prior experience in independent decision-making and a service industry.
- Compassionate and enthusiastic personality.
