Transportation Engineer

Job SummaryThe Transportation Engineer will play a key role in managing transportation projects, leading the design of roadway and traffic improvements, and overseeing a team of engineers and professionals to ensure successful project completion. This role requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical expertise and guidance in roadway design, including geometric design, pavement design, drainage systems, traffic engineering, and environmental considerations.
- Lead roadway design projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
- Oversee and perform complex design and drafting of roadway and highway projects using software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other design tools.
- Ensure quality assurance and quality control processes are implemented and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure project requirements are met.
- Prepare and review project documentation, including design calculations, project specifications, technical reports, and construction documents.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and other team members, fostering professional development and growth.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, presenting project updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in transportation engineering, with a focus on civil engineering and roadway geometric design.
- Advanced proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant tools.
- In-depth knowledge of roadway design principles, standards, and best practices.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required in Colorado (or ability to obtain).
