Job Summary

We are seeking a Chemistry Professor to join our faculty at Warner Pacific University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching chemistry courses on the traditional campus, including organic chemistry, introduction to chemistry, and general chemistry. The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree in chemistry or education/teaching and a commitment to a Christ-centered lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities

The Chemistry Professor will be responsible for the following:

  • Teaching assigned courses, including lecture and laboratory sections as assigned, in organic chemistry, modeling current best practices in teaching, demonstrating a commitment to sound andragogical and pedagogical practices.
  • Mentor students during the course.
  • Clearly communicate to students when and how to secure instruction and feedback outside of regular course meeting hours.
  • Provide prompt and thorough feedback to students to ensure their ability to incorporate changes before subsequent assignments.
  • Work collegially with the Dean, faculty, staff, and students; providing timely and professional communication.
  • Understand and promote the mission, values, and core themes of Warner Pacific University.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills in all interactions with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Participate in the professional development opportunities provided by the institution.
  • Adhere to college policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to a Christian liberal arts education by upholding the mission of the university and abiding by the Employment Standards and Lifestyle Agreement.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in chemistry or education/teaching required.

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry.
  • Professional experience in the field of Chemistry.
  • College teaching experience in relevant curriculum.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. Warner Pacific University also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
