Scientific Instrumentation Specialist

Coda Search&Staffing is seeking a highly skilled Scientific Instrumentation Specialist to join our team. This full-time position offers a competitive estimated salary of $70,000 - $90,000 per year.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling custom instrumentation consisting of mechanical assemblies, electrical harnesses, and fluidic interconnections. Additionally, they will install, troubleshoot, repair, and schedule maintenance on instruments. Upon sufficient training and experience with instrumentation, the specialist will provide onsite service and telephone support at customer facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instrument Assembly: Assemble custom instrumentation that consist of mechanical assemblies, electrical harness and fluidic interconnections.
- Maintenance and Repair: Install, troubleshoot, repair and schedule maintenance on instruments.
- Onsite Service: Provide onsite service and telephone support of instrumentation and associated peripheral components at customer facilities.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure high level service quality while ensuring compliance with all company policies & procedures.
- User Feedback: Engage in user feedback, detect part or assembly issues and initiate performance driven engineering changes.
- Documentation: Activity documentation, maintain status and traceability of assemblies and parts.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Technical Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of assembly experience building complex electro-mechanical instruments. Experience with assembly of scientific instrumentation preferred.
- Servicing and Maintenance: Experience servicing and maintaining instruments preferred.
- Required Tools: Required: experience using crimping hand tools and basic electrical test equipment for custom electrical harness build and testing.
- Team Player: Requires the individual to be a team player and meeting challenging, fast-paced timelines.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills to work independently to understand, follow through, and resolve instrument issues and the needs of customers.
- Travel Requirements: Travel to customer locations and perform on-site installation or service calls Must have and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license and good driving record.
- Timely Results: Possess a sense of urgency to deliver timely results and resolve issues quickly.
- Interpretation: Interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, part/assembly drawings and other diagrams.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office preferred) and strong written and oral communication skills
- Organizational Skills: Good organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate documentation using good practices
