Sprinkler Service Foreman Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sprinkler Service Foreman to join our team at Allied Fire Protection. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation, service, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation and Service: Lead and direct the installation, service, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems, ensuring compliance with manufacturer's requirements and industry standards.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Oversee, direct, and delegate tasks to fitters and helpers to ensure project completion deadlines are met and scheduling requirements are fulfilled.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that all equipment and systems meet the required standards.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Maintain open communication with customers, providing information and updates on project progress and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Training and Development: Instruct and train helpers, apprentices, or other personnel in the basic process of service, repair, and system installation.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Foreman, with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a fire sprinkler helper or 3 years of experience as a fire sprinkler apprentice/fitter.
  • Certifications: American Fire Sprinkler Association training program designed for fire sprinkler foremen, preferred. Certified state/federally-accredited Foreman, preferred. State Backflow testing and repair certification, preferred. Forklift and scissor lift certification, preferred. Nicet II & III certification, preferred.
  • Knowledge: Must have knowledge of fire sprinkler piping systems, including fabrication of related piping and various materials and applicable joining methods. Understanding of NFPA codes and standards.

  • Leadership and Teamwork: Ability to take direction from upper management, accurately complete and maintain all paperwork, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact and communicate in a professional and positive manner with other trades, customers, project managers, county officials, general contractors, etc.
  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing situations, and make sound decisions.
