Geisinger, a health system in central and northeastern Pennsylvania, is seeking an experienced Central Region Emergency Medicine Chief Advanced Practitioner to lead our team of advanced practitioners in the Central Region. This role will provide local leadership, management, and support for the Emergency Department(s) in Danville, Bloomsburg, and Coal Township.
Key Responsibilities
The Central Region Chief AP Site Lead will report directly to the system Chief AP for Emergency Medicine while working cooperatively with the local/regional ED Medical Director, Operations personnel, nursing staff, and other departments to provide emergency services for all patients who present to the ED.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing Leadership and Management: Developing workflow processes and departmental initiatives in collaboration with EM leadership, supervising and evaluating advanced practitioners in clinical and assigned administrative duties, and ensuring that departmental policies are known, understood, and implemented by the advanced practitioners.
- Mentoring and Training: Participating in the education and training of newly hired APs with yearly evaluations subsequent to initial hire, arranging off-service procedural experience, and assuring compliance with the required number of procedures for credentialing.
- Quality Improvement: Collaborating with the ED leadership team and administration to ensure that departmental performance meets or exceeds standards described in the hospital bylaws, departmental policies, the PA DOH, the Joint Commission Manual of Accreditation, and in other appropriate local and national standards.
- Liaison and Ambassador: Acting as liaison with hospital administration and other clinical departments, promoting a collaborative, interdisciplinary ED leadership team, and addressing grievances and complaints.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A minimum of 5 years experience as an advanced practitioner with a minimum of 2 years experience in emergency medicine.
- Leadership and management experience preferred.
- Board Certification as either a physician assistant or nurse practitioner and an active Pennsylvania State license.
Benefits and Compensation
We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
