About the Role

The Forest Society of Maine is seeking a highly skilled Development Associate to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will play a critical role in supporting our efforts to conserve and maintain the many values of forestlands in Maine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Development Support: Assist in the development and implementation of fundraising strategies to support the Forest Society of Maine's mission.
  • Donor Relations: Process donor gifts and pledges, and maintain accurate records of donations.
  • Database Management: Maintain and update our development database, ensuring accurate and timely information.
  • Communication and Outreach: Assist in the creation and distribution of newsletters, website content, and other communications to supporters.
  • Event Planning: Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events, including invitations, promotional materials, and guest lists.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis to support fundraising efforts, including identifying potential donors and tracking progress towards goals.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational and analytical skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in development, fundraising, or a related field.
